I have Norton Internet Security 2006 But has ran out of subscription.

The rest are free ones from click here

AVG Anti
ZoneAlarm
WinPatrol
HijackThis
Microsoft Windows Defender beta
Ad-Aware

Is that enough?

No anti spyware programs A-Nonymous? Don't think thats such a good idea.
I use AVG free antivirus Zone Alarm free firewall, the windows one only works one way so its pretty useless and Superantispyware and AdAware 2007.
Thats one anti virus, one firewall and two antispyware.

make sure norton is fully removed, it will clash with avg and win patrol, weakening your security.

Maybe I should consider it but I dont have enough RAM on my PC to have too many programs (192 MB RAM - need to upgrade!)

more than enough
i just use avast av,A squared, sperantispyware and router firewall.
never had an issue, safe surfing is your best form of defence

Hi billydilly, In my opinion what you have got is fine! but just like other recommendations I would definitely use Superantispyware {FREE version}

A-Nonymous you can add programs like AdAware easily enough as the free one does not run in the background and therefore doesn't slow the PC up at all. It only runs when you choose to run it, I run a scan with it once a week. Superantispyware is good but does run in the background and therefore does effect your PC speed.
But theres quite a few others that only run on demand.

of interest, what do you do with the hijack this?

Windows Defender Beta???

Windows Defender came out of Beta almost 2 years ago!

No one has mentioned Search and Destroy and the excellent SpywareBlaster (which runs in the background).

Even more important though is updating on a regular basis.
