Dissappearing Hard Drive.

I have a 400GB docments hard drive, and only shows up in my computer for about 5 minutes before disappearing from view in all applications including device manager and even in Computer Management> Storage > Disk management. I run Vista Ultimate/XP Pro. I fear that this is a Hardware related issue. That caases the hdd to malfunction when it is switched on after a while.

Any help would be great. Thanks. My Main OS is installed onto an IDE drive.

Is this an external drive connected by USB?

  LithiumX 18:06 03 Nov 2007

Nope--- Its an iternal SATA drive. Ive had problems with my SATA bus before, but the other disk on my sata bus works perfectly.

Check the power connection to the drive.

I check the power and it was a wee bit loose. Psuhed it back in, thankfully nothing was damaged however, it still disappears.
