Display settings problem

  Dumble452 17:12 17 Nov 2007

I've recently had an intermittent problem with my computer. After the computer has been on standby or after switching users the display sometimes changes to the lowest settings i.e 640x480 and 4 bit colour. I am then unable to change these settings unless I reboot. I'm using Windows XP sp2, the graphics card is an nVidia GeForceFx5200 and the driver listing is 11/08/2006 The device is shown as working correctly under device manager.

Does changing it in display not make any difference. Some one will probably advise you to take it out clean it and make sure it is put back right,Have you got the latest driver for it.

Its an old driver and updating to the newest one will certainly do no harm.

I have similar problem using a Desktop XP computer connected to a 32 ins LCD TV. It does not save the settings I set it to. Each time it is rebooted the settings change to a lower resolution

I went into driver downloads loaded your driver details and that is what came up.If you would also like to check as I would not like to see you downloading the wrong one.I am only trying to fill in here until someone can give you the advice that you need.

I'll be honest with you I never noticed there was 2 versions and have always used the larger international one. I presume the US one will work but since I've never used it I don't know for sure.
Go for the international one.
