Display Colours

Hi, my step daughters computer is right up the creek.

The colours are all washed out, tried re-setting them in Display properties, but it does not save new setting.

The only other thing i noticed is when the icons are re-arranged on the desktop, after powering down/up the icons go back to their original places. It seems that its not remembering or saving any instuctions??

Any ideas what is wrong??

Thank you, Ian...

Check in control panel/system/device manager, if there is an exclamation mark next to device check out it's properties.

Have you loaded any 'device drivers' from microsoft, as it sounds as if your VDU (Graphics) card software is corrupt. If you have the operating system CD, Try re-instaling to the same folder as original, and this should restore the correct settings
