Disk Wiping Freeware?

  Legslip 11:00 25 May 2009

I want to take my old PC to the skip but want to ensure that the HD is completely clean before I do. Can anyone recommend some diskwiping freeware?

I suppose you could always take the hard drive out and flatten it with a hammer.

"I want to take my old PC to the skip"

Surely there must be some sort of charity that can benefit somewhere close.

If it's just going to the tip a sledgehammer can be pretty effective;-)

Told a pal what I was doing and he has asked me to delete all data on one of his drives. Is it possible to have one of these progs on a laptop so that it is portable and you can delete drives on demand?

KILLDISK; completely wipes the hard disk to zero. try that one, do google search and its free.
