Disc Clean Up

  Fatbelly 14:26 27 Jul 2003

I run Win XP Home with an Intel 1.8 Processor and 40Gig Byte HD.
Whenever I try to run Disc Clean Up it says that it is "calculating how much space you will be able to use, this may take a few minutes"
Below that it says "scanning: compress old files"

All of this seems normal except it stays in this state and does not move on .

Last night I left it on all night and it still said "scanning: compress old files".

It has always been like this since I bought the PC 18 months ago. Any ideas

Regards Fatbelly

click here but note that following these instructions will mean that Disk Cleanup will no longer compress old files.

You may wish to wait for a better solution.

Unless your missing GB's of space do not worry. Clearing temp files removing unwanted files etc will do the job.
