disappearing e-mail attachments

  Mrs S 15:29 17 Nov 2007

Using Windows XP -and Eudora for e-mails.
Attachments have disappeared - probably over 100 stretching over many months. The e-mails are still accessible but where have all the attachments gone ? Help please.

Do you mean you never received them?

I believe Eudora stores attachments seperately.

No - they have been opened/viewed ( some were of photos) or read in Eudora and kept but have recently just gone although the accompanying message is still on Eudora.

Tools>Options>Attachments, 'Attachment Directory'

I think Eudora does store attachments separately but in the 'In' box you can normally just click on the attachment logo alongside the accompanying e-mail and it opens.

I have looked in the directory on the c drive that the pc keeps the attachments in but they are not there

It would seem you are not alone, this looks like a Eudora problem, not just confined to your pc.

Is there anything checked in Options, such as Delete attachments when emptying trash?

  Technotiger 16:11 17 Nov 2007

I have never used Eudora, preferring Incredimail instead, but perhaps if you click on Help within Eudora you could look at its FAQ's or contact Support at the Eudora website? click here

no, nothing like that is checked, and the problem applies to emails in numerous mailboxes which have not been deleted.
