Disabling screensaver when email received

My equipment: Windows Me, Outlook Express 6, BT ADSL.

I leave my ADSL connection "always on" throughout the day, with Outlook
Express checking every minute for new messages. As set, an alarm is sounded
and an icon appears in the system tray when a new email is received. The
sound alarm still works when the screen-saver is active (I have set it to
cut in after 15 minutes of inactivity) but is there a way I can set my
system so that, when a new message is received, my screen-saver is
automatically switched off (as when I touch the keyboard or mouse)? (I
appreciate I can disable the screen-saver but I don't want to "burn" my
screen!)
