Disable Messenger

I did ask this question a long time ago and got an answer, however I can't find it in "My postings" so here goes again.

How do I completely disable messenger on my XP pc?

If I remember correctly it is used as a "Run" command.

TIA Mike

start > run > type in msconfig > goto startup then unclick msnmsgr.

that should disable it .

hi mike,

to uninstall messenger completely, go to start, run, and type in the following:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

(you can just copy and paste it if you prefer).
