I took many photos of a golden wedding trip to Alaska and Canada and lent the resulting DVD to my daughter who used it successfully on her HP Media Center computer. On returning the disc to me I find that somehow she has changed the format from jpeg to pdd, she cannot remember how she did it. Now I am unable to retrieve pictures from the DVD.My computer tells me to open with adobe photoshop elements which I have but it only opens a blank screen whatever I do. Suggestions please.

Google .pdd files. There are free converters to turn them back to jpegs. eg gold-software.com

If it was a DVD/RW disc it might have become corrupted. If it was not RW I cannot see how anyone could change the format, even the originator of the disc. If the pics were taken with a DVD Camcorder, perhaps you could read the disc in the camcorder and re-record to PC.

Though john bunyan has a good point, I had not thought of doing that.
