Does anybody know of any uk friendly u.s. web sites that ship to the uk....and are cheap and reliable? many thanks for any replies Powie

Personally I don't but bear in mind you might be hit with 17.5% VAT on import.

You will DEFINITELY have to pay VAT and there may be other charges. HM Customs and Excise have a rather thick book which they will peruse to see if you are liable for Import Duties as well.

You'll only be hit with VAT if they detect it on import (personal experience). You may also be charged by the company that does the import paperwork, say £20-25 on top.
