i have a samsung dv recorder i am having trouble playing the recording on my pc, codec 45 missing,it saves the recordings in file type asf, i am connecting it to pc by usb1 point, am i going wrong somewhere, have tryed drdivx but it replays very blocky and stuttery

Not sure but maybe USB 1 conflict, you may need USB2 with DV camera.

Maybe not , i use sony camcorder on USB2, with XP moviemaker and it works fine.

although not sure USB1 fast enough to cope with
vidoe capture, probably need to update to
USB2 if you dont have firewire.

Sorry I was a bit brief bazzacfc but for speed get firewire. It will be much faster downloading to HD.

cheers for responses, yes i think i need to upgrade to usb 2 or fire wire, is this expensive? and fairly easy to do?, i also thought of installing a tv card so i could copy from vhs and then burn to dvd, is this fairly easy and cheap to do, thanks for the help so far
