Digi tv recorder to pc

I wanted to transfer some saved programs from hitachi hdr161 so i took the hard drive out and joined it up to the pc as slave in the hope of copying to hard drive 0 and then burning relavent progs when i had time.
Problem is i canot make head nor tail of how its stored on the recorders HD. any Help Thanks as my recorder is nearly full and i dont want to lose any.

someone may no better than i buti feel you are wasting your time as hard drive is not a pc one, you may have some luck using pc to interrogate recorder?

It depends on how hitachi store the files, I resucued a harddrive from a failed Tevion HDD recorder and use some software from the net to convert the files to a usable state for the PC.

The hard drive will work perfectly well in a PC as it is probably a standard Eide (Pata) drive.

try googling for hdd recorder conversion software.

its a normal pc drive but if its come from a tv recorder format will differ
