Different sized RAM

  SteveBut 17:09 29 Dec 2006

I'm currently running my PC with 1 x 512MB of RAM & am looking to upgrade this. Can anyone tell me if I have to buy the same sized RAM for my motherboard (a WINFAST CK804K8MA)or can I have 1 x 512Mb module & 1 x 1GB module giving me 1.512MB in total in the two slots?
Thanks for your help !

Run this scanner to tell you the best set up. Usually RAM should be the same module size. click here

Hi thanks for your quick response. After doing the scan I can stick a 1gb module in with my 512 module, but it won't work to optimum performance. I think I'll give it a go & if I see no improvement I'll then buy a second 1gb module, which should see it whizz along !
Thanks for your help anskyber
