This may sound like a silly question but what is the difference between

Intel® Core™ 2 Quad-Core Q6600 Processor (2.4GHz, 8MB cache, 1066MHz FSB

Intel® Viiv™ Core™ 2 Quad-Core Q6600 Processor (2.4GHz, 8MB cache, 1066MHz FSB

Both of these are on the dell web site for the same computor & the same price. Thanks guys.

According to this click here its optimized for HD. Now whether that makes any difference to the normal computer user I have no idea. I assume the standard quad core is the same without the HD optimisation.

Hasn't really taken off as Intel hoped it would...Most of the optimisation is based around code written for Intel spec. devices....I would go for the non-viv (pronounced vive) variety.

Thanks Totally-braindead I supose it depends on if you have a HD monitor

Again a thank you to crosstrainer for your help.

I don't know MIKE as I said I have no idea if the HD thing is any use to a normal PC user. I assume its more expensive.
