Hi i was wondering if anybody could explain to me the differences between a visual and a non-visual progarmming environment as im not exactly clear. Im having a debate with one of my friends that is intrested in progarmming. I have used previoulsy Pasgal and VB 6. VB 6 is visual isnt it?

Cheers for your help. Its just to break the ice really.

Visual is Micrsoft's brand name covering all of their programming environments, like Visual Basic, Visual C++, etc.

I think that what Microsoft are trying to get at is that it is comparitavly easy to create GUIs using Visual Basic rather than just plain old BASIC, where you would need to enter lines and lines of code.
