What Is Difference between Intel Core Duo and Pentium D?
I want a PC now and I Will be using it for gaming but all games say that they need 3ghz Cpu and some of the Computer Only have 2.66 but say there duo.

So does a Pentium D 2.6ghz Mean 5.4ghz?
and
Does a Intel Core Duo/Intel Duo 2 1.8ghz mean 3.6ghz?

Will they be able to run games that need 3ghz specs to run ect?

(just so you know, Ill be looking at Computers with 1gb minium as well, as well as a graphics card - most likely 7500GT)
