Hey can anyone tell me whats the difference beetween a 32-bit and a 64-bit computer/operating system?any advantages. i also heard that updating your RAM to 4GB would be better if you had a 64 bit and not a 32bit operating system. ..im buying a new desktop shortly and im not sure about this.

I rebuilt my machine to 64 bit [AMD] 2 years ago
Cant say it made any difference compared with other[32 bit] machines the pass through my den for fixing.
I guess to be really useful the 64 bit hardware has to be linked to 64 bit software and there is not much of that about.
Indeed none of my software is 64 bit.
