devolo and networking problems

  Shirazz 13:32 10 May 2008

I have two PCs linked by devolo home plugs so PC2 shares PC1's internet connection via a broadband router although the PC1 doesn't have to be on for access to web pages, email etc. They also have a wireless conncetion. Even downloads work fine. BUT - the two computers don't see each other AND some apps, such as Last.FM, Miro, Winamp and one or two others can't get a connection on PC2. If this is about proxy addresses, what is that & where do I find it? Many thanks.

Have you given each PC the same workgroup name and run the network wizard on each one.

I have, and I've run this several times in case I somehow made a mistake. I've just added Tom Tom to the list of apps that can't connect - seems to be something about operating as a server although Windows media player has no problems.
Thanks for trying.
