"Windows Promise Raid Console SCSI Processor Device....This device is disabled (code 22). Click to enable device.

The PC has the following motherboard: -

Asus A8V Deluxe GB /LAN/1394/SATA/ RAID/AUDIO (939 PIN).

The Processor is an AMD ATHLON 64 3500+ (939 PIN)

The PC is functioning OK.....should I enable the device ?

Only if you have a RAID set up or wish to establish one.

It looks like you have a hardware RAID configurator should you ever need it.

My Asus motherboard has a Promise Raid controller that I don't use and it has a setting in the BIOS at Advanced, Onboard Device Configuration, Onboard Promise Contoller which I have set to Disabled. Once disabled here it doesn't show up in Device Manager.

It's good to know the PC can be configured to utilise more than one one HD, but at present there is one + an external USB backup drive. So I will leave everything as it is.
