gday all just installed a new cdrw ,my old one was a scsi device straight to a pci scsi card ,treat myself to a new msi 52/32/52 cdrw as the old one was very slow, installation went ok cdrw up and running ,in the process of installing the new rw i removed the old scsi rw and scsi pci adapter card ,gonna put it in my kids system ,checked in device manager and reports -programmable interrupt controller -yellow icon at side, code 15 is reported -i suspect this is a driver recognition leftover from the scsi pci adapter card -IS IT SAFE TO GO AHEAD AND DELETE -wot do you say -as usual all replies greatfully recieved -hol pol...
Go ahead and delete it from device manager. It sounds as if it is the scsi pci card.
The thing with device manager is if you delete the wrong thing and go to a straight reboot. Windows will re-find it and reload it, on some things you will need a driver disk. But usually any thing with a yellow asterisk can be deleted.
This points to either a peripheral removed or the proper drivers are not installed for it.
