Detection and removal of hidden proxy server

  Yimbo 01:12 04 Aug 2004

I've received an email with attachment(allegedly )from by server (Supanet, com) saying that my computer "has been used to send a huge amount of junk emails during this seek, Obviously your computer has been compromised and now contains a hidden proxy server."

I sent this back to Supanet for authentication that it was genuinely from them, but have received no response as yet. The attachment allegedly contains info about keeping my computer safe, but I an reluctant to open it in the absence of verification as to its genuineness. How do I know whether I have this problem, and if so, how do I get rid if it?

It has scam written all over it. Delete it. Also, make sure your anti-virus software is configured to check your email.

Use MailWasher as well click here

Rule of thumb: any email you are unsure of - delete! (Never open the attachment.)
