Desktop for video editing - not games

  AlanHo 19:25 12 Mar 2006

I want to upgrade my home desk top computer with a new mother board, processor and Graphics card to use the Premier Elements 2 video editing programme.

I am aware that I need a CPU with SSE2 ability and want a graphics card that can drive two LCD DVI monitors.

I do not play games - I am looking to optimise the computer for video editing plus the usual photo editing, word processing and spreadsheet programmes.

Which processors and graphics cards do you recommend.

When I purchased Premiere Pro I got it from, I would have a look at their sites and see what systems they build to give you an idea, I have a Matrox and 1Gb RAM and a 2.4 Ghz processor which works, butdoes hang sometimes( I learnt that it pays to allways save as you work!!)
