desktop pc crashes when using laptop wirelessly

desktop is xp pro 64
laptop is vista business 32

so what happens is that if im watching a film being streamed to my laptop from the pc, the pc will crash.
error reports are always along the same lines:
'somesuch.sys the driver mistakenly marked part of its image pagable instead of nonpagable...'

then a suggestin to turn off memory caching/shadowing in the BIOS (which isnt a feature of my bios as im using a state of the art ASUS mobo)
and to check all hardware and software...(???!!)

so basically if this doesnt stop happening im just gonna stich vista onto the desktop, but i would really like a less time consuming solution! if anyone has any ideas i'd be very interested !!

Take careful note of the `somesuch.sys` name, find out what it's responsible for, see if there's an update.
