desktop and laptop

I currently have a desktop PC in upstairs room using talktalk broadband and I want to buy a laptop to use downstairs.What extra parts will I need to use my laptop on line,or will it run of my talktalk broadband speedtouch router.Thankyou for any help.

is the router wireless or wired? if the former then you dont need to get anything. the laptop will definately have wireless capabilities built in (unless you get a really old one). If wireless, the router will appear on your laptop and you connect via the windows wireless utility.

If its wired then you will need cabling to connect to the laptop.
