My son, having just bought a new laptop, has donated his old one to me. He transfered all his old files and applications to an external hard drive and then on to his new laptop. On getting the old laptop home, I removed all his old applications, etc, but on trying to install some other software and place a shortcut on the desktop, all I keep getting is "F:\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable...". Also this message appears regularly when I'm trying to do other things. I assume his external drive was F: and he's managed to send his desktop files to it. It's not a huge problem, as I seem to be able to do everything else, but it is a minor annoyance. Any suggestions?
