Have you tried system restore to before you had this problem ?

  heepster 21:08 01 Feb 2007

No actually I havent. Was rather hoping its something silly rather than use restore. Had a bad experiance with restore the last time I used it!

Have you tried right clicking on the picture in question and use as (set as desktop background) if so does the screen still stay blue ?

  heepster 21:17 01 Feb 2007

Yes tried that also skidzy. Still blue (and so am I!)

Can you check device manger for any yellow exclaimation marks, you may have a corrupted graphics driver...

Checked , no yellow marks. Maybe system restore is the last option?

System restore worked. Many thanks skidzy. Wish i knew what went wrong though. Strange thing is when I shut down to do system restore the background showed for an instance.
