My desktop background has been replaced by a Different background. All the icons are showing and function but if you right click it brings up a dropdown list which if you go into properties say it is an HTML document with the following address "file://C:\WINDOWS\Web\desktop.html". I have tried to change ot using control panel and have gone to the address and removed the file but none of this has worked. Also tried spybot and ad-aware again no luck. Can anybody help. This happened whilst on the inhternet.System is XPProfessional.

Try disabling the active desktop click here

Have you tried right clicking the desktop and selecting properties/background---then reselect your normal desktop?

If this has appeared by inadvertently chosing to set an image as desktop, reselecting your original should remove it.
