Denied access from myself

Hi,

I have a big problem: In my computer I denied access to my E-drive by mistake. I right-clicked on E drive in My computer, selected Propterties, then Security tab. In the Authenticated Users and Users (top and bottom) I selected full deny. (for the middle 2, I did not change anything). The problem is that I cannot access my E-drive at all.. I tried to take ownership of the drive but windows doesn't allow anything.. I use Windows 8.1

Any suggestion and help would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!

Go back to the Properties > Security Tab and click Advanced to change things back.

It's a bit of a fiddle sometimes.

Also try by rebooting into Safe Mode with Networking where you will be Administrator

You can also use the cacls command from an Admin Command Prompt (Right-click Start Button)

Try

cacls E: /T /E /G "yourusername":F

=-=-=

cacls /? lists the full syntax or Google

Maybe

cacls E: /T /G "yourusername":F

Not sure /E is a permanent change
