Dell Xp to Vista Upgrades

Dell desktops with Xp Media Centre Editions are currently being advertised with a free Vista Premium upgrade.

If I was to buy one of these machines then send off for the upgrade CD would I be able to leave the new PC with MCE on it and install the Vista upgrade onto my other Dell PC which has Xp pro on it?

Probably yes, physically but I'm not sure about legally / morally...

Ah those morals again :-(

Been thinking about this - nothing in the paperwork I've got states that I have to install it on any particular computer - just if I but item "A" I get item "B" free.

No stipulation about how I use item "B"...................

If you are given a full version of Vista, then I suppose you can put it onto any PC you wish; if it is OEM it will be for a particular piece of hardware.

Having said that, if you put it onto a different PC I don't expect MS to send the police round to look,.,

I'll hide the PC in a cupboard (just in case) :-)
