Download and run SIW/Hardware/Video to see exactly which monitor you have fitted.

Pay attention to the warning mentioned in Amazon..

Product Description
• Please match your original screen's BACKLIGHT TYPE,SIZE,and RESOLUTION before you purchase this item, because some laptop models come with more than one type of screens

"Dell not very helpful" - I have never owned a Dell computer and that is why - I have heard too many bad reports from disappointed owners. It is all about "Sales" these days, that's where the money comes from.

Just had to Google my Monitor Model number (as provided by SIW) to find whether I had "1 CCFL"

Popped up a load of other suppliers and prices too.
I bought mine from Amazon a few months ago.
(Compaq £72)

Is that download safe as most of my security programmes and warning against downloading it

If you are referring to SIW fro CNet then yes it is safe.

cnet.com is a very safe download site. No probs here running Avira.

Try from filehippo or somewhere else if worried.
Probably a false positive.
