Dell recovery

I am trying to restore my Dell Dimension 8400 using the recovery cd that came with it. However as it has a SATA hard drive it can't find it when I try to restore I have no floppy disk with the computer so have downloaded the drivers for the hard drive. When i press f6 it loads the drivers but I get the message telling me that there is no hard drive attached to the computer

I suggest have a look on the side /back of your dell computer and you will see a number.Make a note of that number then go to the Dell website, where it will ask you for it. Explain the problem and with a bit of luck dell will come up with a solution.
You need to enter the number so dell can reconise the make & model of the machine.
