Just out of interest folks I was wondering how difficult a memory upgrade on a laptop might be?

Obviously its easy in a desktop. But because of the nature of a laptop I was wondering if it was a lot more difficult.

Thanks

Inspirons are usually quite easy. You just need to know which cover (usually underneath) to remove.
When removed the memory is accessible.
Full detailed plans for all their machines are given on the Dell website

Inspiron RAM upgrade is actually easier than a desktop, open the panel in the bottom and slot in the extra module, that's it.

Don't buy memory from Dell though, it's very expensive.

Turn the Inspiron upside down and in the centre of the base you will see a square hatch with two screws. The hatch has a M beside it for Memory. Undo the screws and you have access to the memory.

Take the advice of Belatucadrus and buy from Crucial.
