Dell Inspiron 6400

Hi guys
I wonder if anyone could advise me? I would like to upgrade my hard drive to 60 to a 160 an dnot spend a lot on the dell new part,I see these drives on eBay but do not feel that I know what to buy,has anyone experience in this ??? will it be worth the trouble?

Please can you supply the Model of your DELL(?) PC, so that we can check whether it needs an IDE or SATA drive.

You could always buy an external hard drive in an enclosure which connects to your PC by USB...the size of the drive then would be based purely on how much you want to spend.

Sorry missed the heading of your post....can you confirm that it has a SATA hard drive? By going to the DELL web site and using your Service Tag number in the Support page it will tell you the exact shipped specs of your PC.

If it is a SATA drive then you really must have all your discs, the Recovery OS disc and the Recovery Drivers disc.
