hi i have an old `dell dimension 2400 2.66 ghz with 1 gig memory iwould like to get 1400 x 900 on my monitor the trouble is the dell has on board graphics (intel extreme graphics) there is not a agp slot but it dose have 3 pci slots free would a pci adapter be better (if i can get one) i know the pc is old but i would like to try and get the best graphics i can from it as the pc is worlin ok thanks Chippy

shpuld be ok. You don't state which o.s you are using but watch for compatibility.
An additionalol 1gb of memory would help.

The chipset on your pc (845GV) supports resolutions up to 2048x1536 @ 60Hz (click here), so you should be ok if your monitor supports your requirements.

Adding more RAM to a maximum of of 2GB (max supported on your motherboard) will help a lot.

19" recomended at 1440 x 900 i am running it at 1280 x 768 maybe it's because i run my other pc's at the 1440 x 900 i notice the differencei think i will add the rec pci video card as i use the agp version on another pc i will also add more memory thank again for your help Chippy
