Hello...can anyone help please ?? I got a dell at christmas which has been rarely used, but recently I decided to connect it to internet. Shortly after downloading AVG and McAfee firewall from AOL the computer would not boot. The message was: 'a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL'
This is followed by bits of advice which didn't help. Contacted DELL helpline... I thought because it's under warranty they would help but they said it's a software problem so was not guaranteed. They knew how to fix it but wanted £50+vat to talk me through it over the phone to fix it !! Wasn't impressed with them. Has anyone had this problem or know what I can do without lining DELL'S pockets?
