Have you bought the correct memory modules? The bleep and the blank screen indicates that the RAM modules are not being recognised, or are not correctly inserted.

Your computer has two RAM slots, each of which can take a 1Gb of PC2700/3200 DDR SDRAM module.

Take care to ensure that both modules are properly seated in their slots.

yes i have tried two diferent types and i have definitely made sure it clips in properly the first ones i bought were high density and the guy i got them of said you need low density so he sent me two more but still bleeping and blank screen they are inserted ok becuase i put the orignal ones back it works fine maybe i will try512mb in each slot thanks

Hi Wesley5378,

If the original memory module is 1*512 MB , Try to check it on both the slots .Its definitely a memory related issue .As suggested by the Forum editor , Ensure its a PC2700/3200 (333/400 Mhz ) Non ECC DDR SDRAM .

As PC boots enter Setup / BIOS and change memory settings to match new RAM. If set to Auto, still change as Auto will be looking for old values, not new. Once succesfully booted you can come back to this and set it to Auto if you want.
