Deleting Windows Temporary Folder Properly XP

I was advised to delete the Windows temp folder before Capturing Video from my Camcorder to my PC.

I've found the Temp folder via the Search function.

The location is C:\WINDOWS\Temp

Is it alright to select all of the contents and delete everything ?

Or should I delete the contents of each sub-folder whilst leaving the sub-folders behind ?

Is there a more straight forward way to do this ?

Yes, select all and delete. If windows is using any of it, it will tell you so and will not delete that section.

What is the total size of files and folders in yours ;-) mine is only 1Kb :-( click here

1.67MB

It contains sub-folders such as :

Cookies
History
Temporary Internet Files
_ISTMPO.DIR

then you will have to open each folder separately. If the total size is only 1.6Mb, then this is very small.

You could download ccleaner, click here This will automatically clean out the files for you.
