Deleting user log-in box at startup

  User-3FBB50C8-B063-4D19-98CB013B60C6D958 17:42 01 Feb 2003

I am using Windows ME and have deleted all the user details from the control pane. When I reboot the system I still receive a log-in box and have to press the escape key to carry on. I am sure that a similar incident was reported in the magazine a few months ago but am unable to locate it. Can anybody please help??

Go to Control Panel > Network, change the logon from Client for Microsoft Networks to Windows Logon

I had this too recently. This is what I did:

Search for and delete all .pwl files.

Open Network in Control Panel. Click on the Configuration tab and select 'Windows Logon' for Primary Network Logon.

Also in Control Panel go to Passwords and in the User Profiles tab and make all users use the same preferences.

Search should be for *.pwl
