Deleting old references

Win ME,Arcsoft Imageing s/w. When I bring up my Image programs and click "File", at the bottom of the menu is up to half a dozen old references to images that thave been worked on in the past.Although harmless they are redundant,a waste of space and beginning to frustrate as I cant find how to get rid of them. Any ideas please?

Check the preferences for an option to alter the number of files in the MRU list.
Check to see if there is a .ini file for the programme, they are sometimes listed in there.

Thanks for reply Tog.For you and anyone else interested, I went to the FAQ at Arcsoft and the answer is "the list updates itself with newer files but the list itself is undeletable".
So I'll try not to look at it.

adding some nonsense references ie A, B, C etc 'til the old ones have gone. It works with Autoroute!
