Hi,

After installing downloads from the internet is it ok to delete the set up file? Also when you have downloaded an upgrade for an application or hardware can you delete this also, ie an updated driver or update to the software?

Many Thanks

JC

Yes, you can delete the downloaded setup files.

But when you want to reinstall what will you do?

Personally I would back up the setup files and any required serial numbers before deleting from the main drive in the PC.

Hi, .......... Re-download !!

I have dozens and dozens of downloaded setup files, I have a splurge on deletions every so often. It has never done any harm.

does this apply to updated drivers also?

Once the updated drivers have been successfully installed - Yes, you are not deleting the drivers. But there is no harm in keeping the downloaded setup files, usually in your My Documents>My Completed downloads folder.
