Deleting Form Data

  Guardianangel 08:53 25 Aug 2010

In XP under Tools, delete browsing history. On clicking delete you are presented with several options, one of which is delete Form Data. This gets rid of names/words you've previously used in search boxes. Like Google for example.

This worked on my previous comp but won't work on my present one.

Has anyone any idea as to what is stopping it from deleting?

Are you using Internet Explorer?

Yes, IE7

Update to IE8.

Why? I've had no problems with IE7.

Deleting Google history is the problem and the fact that it's not deleting.

I don't have a Google toolbar or an account and I don't want to delete all my cookies.

Thanks anyway.

I have now solved this myself. It wasn't old searches that were in the box, it was Google's query suggestions that are an option under Search Settings. I've now set it not to make suggestions and the lists have been cleared.
