Deleting files from usb drive

  Pineman100 11:06 08 Apr 2008

I run XP SP2 Home.

I have been deleting some photo files from a USB pen drive, and I can't get a few of them to delete. When I try I get an error report that says the files are being used by another program - but I know they aren't.

The files will open OK in Photoshop (they're .psd files), but could they be corrupt? If so, is there any way I can delete them from the pen drive? I don't want to resort to reformatting it, if I can avoid it.

Thanks for any advice.

As always, your solution worked a treat. Many thanks, VoG™.

Unlocker reported that the files were not locked, but that it could help me deal with them anyway. When I selected "delete" it did just that.

Just for my further education, do you have any idea why this problem arose, please?

Thank you again.
