Delete a Password

  Spr 13:45 18 May 2007

I have a Toshiba Laptop running Vista while exploring Vista somehow or other I have managed to put in a password, now every time I boot up it keeps asking for the password. How do I delete it?

You would have to type in a password to set one, Spr, can't you remember doing that? Unless you try just pressing Return.

Or do you mean that there is a BIOS password and it wont let you boot into Windows at all.

I cannot boot up into windows

It's not possible to set a BIOS password from within Windows (you said you were exploring Vista at the time). How far do you get in the boot process?

Vista starts to load in then stops and ask you for a password to sign in

Go to Start and Type netplwiz /enter. you can change logon from there.

I looked at what rawprawn said I came out, now I cannot sign in. I'm told my account has been deleted.
Now I cannot get past the sign in screen

All you needed to do was untick "Users must enter a name and password to use this computer" Did you click "Remove"?

It looks like I must have cuaght something when I came out, what I do not know. After I looked at it I clicked OK, what happened I have no idea

When you get to the Log On Screen (Sign in) try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Are you certain you didn't touch anything?
