Defragging the Registry ~ Is there any point?

We all know that Defragging speeds everything up considerably and I have been told that the Defragger provided with Windows XP is slow and possibly, less than comprehensive.

Of late I have noticed several Programs designed to Defrag the Registry.

So: Does the Windows XP Defragger do this and if not, is there any worthwhile gain to be had by doing this using 3rd party Software?

normal defrag will not defrag the registry.

if you defrag the registry that was more than 25% fragmented you should notice a boot up improvement.

defrag the hdd as first before defrag of registry to get better results.

in the 4, or more, years that I've had this PC.

Has anyone got any 'Tried & Tested' Programs that do this?

No problems with any other web-site.

Every-time that there are these moving Adverts comes on, they seem to hog, either my bandwidth, or the Processor, or both.

PCA seems to freeze and internal Navigation becomes impossible.

Hi wee eddie maybe time to give Malwarebytes free a run.
I would recommend IE7Pro Add-On.That may solve your problems and maybe let you browse a bit quicker. If you use it make sure Ad-blocker is ticked and mini Download Manager is unticked.
