I'm running winXP and today installed Diskkeeper lite to defrag my HDD. THe problem is it always finishes up leaving 436 excess fragments. Also my HD seems to fragment very easily. As I installed and defragged this morning and have just analysed the system and it is heavily fragmented again. So any ideas on how to defrag the excess fragments and why my disk fragments so quickly? Thanks

Since you've got XP you could use the in-built defragmenter. Go to All Programmes / Accessories / System Tools / Disk Defragmenter. I've used it a few times and it always does the job for me. I can't think of why your disk fragments so quickly, sorry.
