Default Media Player

How can it be changed? I've tried left clicking and choosing 'open with other' while clicking the box, but this seems to have limitations.

Set program defaults in the start menu or control panel.

Sorry im on a Vista machine at the moment,and its slightly different.

Is it to be assumed that you want to use a different media player to Windows Media Player?

If this is the case then you need to open your preferred player and look for the "File Associations" info and change the defaults for all that you need it to play.

Its OK thanks. I've just solved the problem. To make Windows media player the default, then click on Tools, Options and File Types. Then it is a case of selective all or whatever media types you wish the default to play.
