Default browser & Classic Google homepage, help!

  gazmix 17:34 26 Jul 2006

I run both Internet Explorer & firefox, with classic IE i can get the classic Google homepage when i go to internet options.
With firefox, i can't, i get a load of other stuff there too.
How do i get the classic Gooogle homepage on firefox, maybe it's about making firefox my default browser, how do i do this

I don't fully understand your problem.

The above link works ok for me in Firefox and I have IE6 as my default browser.

To make Firefox always open at Google Uk (set it as homepage) then go to Tools - Options - General tab and click on use current page.

I can't get the classic homepage & save it, as when i go offline, it comes back!
the off at the end is 'official'.

Don't know how you got to that.
Open Firefox or IE6 and in the address bar enter adding the http;//www. before google.
That should enter the Google home page then you should be able to click between personalised and classic.
Have you run a malware search?

I've just gone through a hel of malware, Cimuz from Spybot, Spybot couldn't get rid & i accidentally got rid via search/files & folders & saw 2 malware objects & i deleted them.
Now i need to get rid of this & get the Google homepage.
I've tryed that & when i exit the page i get the above. I want to use firefox, not IE.
Shall try more tommorow.
