Date & Time Properties

The clock on a pc I have keep resetting itself to July 2001, whenever I correct it and leave it switched off for a while.

I thought I knew the answer to this one - change the internal battery. Yet I've done this and tried four different good batteries. Why else would it keep reverting back to 2001?

Possibly the date & time have not been set in the system bios correctly, just a suggestion.

try this..
1. Double-click the time on the screen
2. In the "Time Zone" tab, adjust to your time zone
5. In the "Internet Time" tab, click the checkbox "Automatically syncronize with an internet time server"
6. Set the server to ""

The date & time will automatically syncronize every day and not worry about accuracy.

The motherboard battery is failing and the BIOS is resetting to it's default settings.....which incudes resetting the date and time.

4 duff batteries?

Have a look at this thread click here

Have any changes to the ps been made prior to the fault occurring?

That should read "changes to the pc.."

And I'm joking about the duff batteries!
