Data validation won't recognize comma within range

  oo7juk 11:13 29 Apr 2008

I have a range of data (names) that have a comma, but when I try to use data validation to look up my defined name it won't work.

Bloggs Joe (works)
Bloggs, Joe (doesn't work)

It works OK without the comma.

Many thanks,

I think that this is because a comma is used to separate valid entries in a data validation list.

I think that you would need to replace , with ; to get the DV to work as you want.

Thanks VoG - Could I use a combo box as a workaround. I did try the later. but no luck either, thanks.

I think that a ComboBox should work.
